From November 15 to 21, 2021, in Durban, the 2nd edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) comes to life with more than 10,000 participants from all over Africa for 40 billion dollars in trade and investment agreements which should be concluded.

Business networking opportunities to boost intra-African trade and investment and nearly 1,100 exhibitors showcase their products and services.
As an innovation of IATF 2021, a vast youth pavilion is launched under the auspices of the African Union Commission (AUC) and showcases 150 carefully selected young start-ups from across Africa.

SEGBAYA Komi Bénoît, the young Togolese start-up from the Etoile d'Afrique Technology Group (GTEA) is one of those happy young people selected to present their digital-based innovations.

With the Oreonyx project, SEGBAYA is a winner in the competition for young startups organized by AeTrade Group Union Africiane (UA) hence its presence at the Durban fair.

“My innovation is a web platform developed for the Universities of Togo and Africa to allow them more efficient management of information internally, to allow distance courses via videoconferences and audio conferences, to digitize courses and agendas of events, tutorials and promote remote administrative meetings. Beyond that, Oreonyx is a platform that allows universities, university youth and businesses to be interconnected for more collaboration. Through this project, we want to integrate advanced technology into the education system at the higher level for more opportunities for every stakeholder. Thus, we are creating a futuristic digital university world where each person is valued to build an education and a better future ”, explains SEGBAYA Komi Bénoît.

The ambitions of the young Togolese are very pushed towards a strong potential of economic growth drawn from the participation in the fair of Durban.

"I expect to learn a lot from the fair especially in terms of expertise and benefiting from the experiences of other entrepreneurs in technology to be able to run an efficient and effective business that links both profit and social interest. I also need a partnership with universities and businesses because it is for them that the platform was created but also funding in order to quickly and efficiently deploy the project. I confess that the technological world in Africa is not easy. Already, at this point, I need support to continue and manage to offer Africa innovation and knowledge, "said SEGBAYA Komi Bénoît.

Also, IATF 2021 reserves a major place for the promotion of young African entrepreneurs.
Venture capital and equity funds are welcome to interact with them and explore investment opportunities namely, at AeTrade, Tony Elumelu Foundation, Bank of Industry, Nigeria.
